Privacy Policy — Stet
Stet (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a symptom diary for Android, made by TEZZVO, which is responsible for the information described here. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Stet. Questions or requests: privacy@tezzvo.com.
The short version
- Everything you log in Stet is kept on your phone. We never receive, see or sell your health information. It leaves your phone only when you choose to send it, or when Android backup is on: then your phone includes it in your backup to your own Google account.
- No account. You never sign up, sign in or give us your name or email.
- No ads, no tracking, no crash reporting, and no analytics of how you use the app.
- Purchases go through Google Play. To know whether you have bought Pro, Stet asks RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. It never receives anything you logged. RevenueCat gives us purchase figures, such as sales, renewals and cancellations, and shows us when each random ID first and last checked in, but nothing about your health or what you do in the app.
1. What Stet stores, and where
- Your entries: symptoms, severity, medications and doses, triggers and factors, notes, appointments and reminder times. These are stored in Stet’s private storage on your phone.
- When you edit an entry, Stet keeps the previous version on your phone for 30 days, so a mistaken save can be recovered. Stet deletes old versions on its own, but never sooner than 30 days, unless you delete the entry. If you stop opening Stet, they stay on your phone until you delete the entry or everything. Stet never sends them to us. If Android backup is on, your phone includes them in your backup to your own Google account.
- Reminder record: if you turn on medication reminders, Stet notes on your phone when each reminder was due, whether it arrived and when, and whether you pressed Taken on it. It does not hold the medication’s name or any notes, only a link to the medication. Stet deletes it on its own, but never sooner than 90 days. It is not in your export, because it records what your phone did, not something you logged. A dose you mark Taken from a reminder is saved and exported like any other dose. Deleting the medication, or Settings → Delete everything, deletes its record too. Stet never sends it to us. If Android backup is on, your phone includes it in your backup to your own Google account.
- Your settings, such as theme and reminder preferences, are stored on your phone.
We do not run a server that holds your entries, and Stet works fully offline. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; they are not sent from a server.
2. When information leaves your phone
- When you share, print or export. A report (PDF) or an export file leaves your phone only when you send it, to the app or person you choose. Once sent, it is handled by whoever receives it.
- Purchases. If you buy Stet Pro or a single report, the payment is handled by Google Play, under Google’s own terms and privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). We never receive your card details, name or email from Google Play. To check whether you have bought Pro, Stet asks RevenueCat each time it opens or you come back to it, including if you have never bought anything. RevenueCat receives a random identifier it creates for this app on your phone, the record of any purchase (what was bought, when, the price and currency, and Google Play’s receipt for it), basic technical information needed to answer, such as the app version, your phone’s make, model and Android version, its language settings and its country, and your IP address, which every internet request carries. It never receives your entries or notes. RevenueCat gives us purchase figures, such as sales, renewals and cancellations, and shows us when each random ID first and last checked in, but nothing about your health or what you do in the app. It also shows us, for each random ID, the country of its purchase, the country of the IP address it last connected from, and the app version, Android version and language it last used. RevenueCat does not keep the IP address itself. After a purchase, RevenueCat also saves that random identifier with Google Play services on your phone and, if Android backup is on, in your backup to your own Google account, so that if you reinstall Stet it can find your purchase. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
- Android backup. If backup is turned on in your phone’s settings, Android may include Stet’s data in your phone’s backup to your Google account, as it does for other apps. That backup is managed by Google and your phone’s settings, and is encrypted on recent Android versions. We do not receive it. You can turn it off in your phone’s backup settings.
- Nothing else. This version of Stet contains no advertising, no tracking and no analytics of how you use it, and sends no usage or crash data.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not show ads, and no ad networks are in the app.
- We do not use your health information for marketing.
4. Who receives data
Only RevenueCat, which checks your purchases and gives us purchase figures on our behalf, and Google Play, as the store and seller. If you use Android backup, Google holds that backup for you under your Google account. Whoever you choose to send a report or export to receives that file. We may also disclose the purchase record if the law requires it.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can edit or delete any entry at any time, and export everything you have logged, as a spreadsheet (CSV) or a data file (JSON). These are always available, with or without a subscription.
- Settings → Delete everything deletes every entry, dose, medication and appointment you logged on this phone. Purchases you made stay.
- Uninstalling Stet deletes everything it stored on your phone. The one exception: if you made a purchase and Android backup is on, the random identifier RevenueCat saved with Google Play services (section 2) stays, so a reinstall can find your purchase. It holds nothing you logged.
- To ask about your purchase record or have RevenueCat’s copy deleted, write to privacy@tezzvo.com. The steps are at https://tezzvo.com/apps/stet/delete. Before you write to us: if you subscribe to Stet Pro, cancel the subscription in Google Play first (Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Deleting our records does not stop Google Play from billing you. Then uninstall Stet (this deletes everything you logged on this phone, so export it first if you want a copy): while it is installed, Stet asks RevenueCat each time it opens, and that creates a new record with the same random identifier.
- If you never bought anything, there is no purchase record to delete, and nothing links RevenueCat’s record of your random identifier to you, so we cannot find it to delete it on request. It holds only that identifier and the technical information in section 2, and nothing you logged. Uninstalling Stet removes the identifier from your phone.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or LGPD), you have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Because your entries never reach us, the only information about you we can act on is the purchase record; write to privacy@tezzvo.com and we will respond within 15 days.
6. Security
What Stet stores is kept in the app’s private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. Requests to RevenueCat and Google Play travel encrypted over HTTPS. A report or export you send is protected only as well as the app or person you send it to protects it.
7. Not a medical device
Stet is a diary and a document. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and does not give medical advice.
8. Age
Stet is intended for adults 18 and over. It is not directed to children.
9. Changes
If we change what Stet does with information, for example by adding a way for you to choose to send us app statistics, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version reaches you. Nothing new will leave your phone unless you choose to send it.
